As a former fake blonde, I’ve become fluent in the art of air-drying my hair. Per the advice of my colorist Emaly Baum, I avoid any kind of hot tools — hair dryers and curlers and straighteners can dry out, weaken, or worse, cause breakage — unless it’s an extra-special occasion.
