VIOFO has introduced the A119 Mini 2 as its smallest dash-cam yet; regardless, it still contains Sony STARVIS 2 technology based on the IMX675 sensor. The OEM asserts that it has up to 2.5x the dynamic range of "conventional models", as well as increased sensitivity in low-light, at night included.
Those specs are rated to keep exposure in the Mini 2's up-to-2K/60fps "sharp and detailed" recordings constant, even in situations such as tunnel exits. The dash-cam's lens also has an aperture of f/1.6, for a viewing angle of 140°. WiFi Dual Dash Cam
VIOFO also claims that the new dash-cam can react to "any motion or impact during parking", and to prevent the last video taken prior to an incident such as a crash, thanks to an in-built G-sensor. There is also a GPS logger for detailed data on car speed and location over time, which might be helpful in cases of insurance claims.
The A119 Mini 2 also has a time-lapse function that can record at 1, 2, 3, 5 or 10 fps. It also has "smart" voice-controls that can respond to specific commands such as "video start/stop", "take photo" or "turn Wi-Fi on/off". It can also 'speak' to deliver vocal notifications via its own virtual assistant.
The VIOFO A119 Mini 2 is sold on viofo.com only at present, although its predecessor is available on Amazon.
