CPM unveils its Pellet Mill 9950 for the biomass production industry, designed specifically for high capacity and throughput at more than 10 tons per hour capacity on soft wood. The new mill can handle the toughest industrial applications, from processing soft wood like spruce and southern yellow pine; hard wood like eucalyptus and acacia; or a combination of wood species. Pellet Mill 9950 will come equipped with oil lubricated rollers (OLR) which are temperature-controlled rollers designed to cope with high loads, extend bearing life and maximize uptime. CPM has been developing pellet mills since 1883, and pellet mills for the biomass industry for the last 25 years. The Pellet Mill 9950 will be made available to customers in 2024.

CPM’s patented Twin Track technology can be seen on display at LIGNA for the first time by the biomass production industry. Twin Track improves efficiency inside the wood pellet mill using two rollers which, uniquely, each have their own track – together with more holes in the die surface area to generate a greater volume of pellets. The technology enables machine operators to either increase throughput or lower kilowatt hours per ton to decrease their carbon footprint.
