Plastic Bag Store opens in Ann Arbor – The Oakland Press

A new public art installation opened this week in Ann Arbor offering a fresh perspective on the impact of single-use plastic. The Plastic Bag Store, conceived by artist Robin Frohardt, is disguised as a typical grocery store, but with shelves stocked with items made entirely of single-use plastic salvaged from streets and garbage dumps. At times during the day, the store will be transformed into a stage for a series of short films in which puppetry and handmade sets are used to tell a story of the dangers of plastic waste. The installation runs through Feb. 5 at the 777 Building, 777 E Eisenhower Pkwy, Ann Arbor. Tickets are $30 for general admission or $12 for students.
